Subscription, Billing, Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated: 18 August 2026
Kindnesss subscriptions are annual and are sold through a Merchant of Record. This page explains billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds in plain terms.

Contents
1. What you are buying
Kindnesss sells annual subscriptions to the Kindnesss service. A family supporter plan applies to your own account. A school, company or other organisation plan applies to a Circle and includes a seat limit for the tier you bought.
Prices are shown in United States dollars on our pricing pages and at checkout. The price and the seat limit shown at checkout are the ones that apply.
2. Who sells and processes the payment
Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, acting as Merchant of Record. Dodo is the seller of record for the transaction, presents its own terms and privacy notice on its hosted checkout, takes the payment, and handles any applicable sales tax, VAT or GST.
Kindnesss does not receive or store your full card details. We receive the subscription, customer and status information we need in order to give you the access you paid for, and to answer a billing question.
Your card or bank statement may show the Merchant of Record descriptor rather than the word Kindnesss.
3. Seats and tiers
Organisation plans are sold by seat band. The service enforces the seat limit of the tier you purchased: once the limit is reached, no further participants can be enrolled in that Circle until seats are freed or the Circle moves to a larger tier.
If you outgrow the largest self-service tier, or need a district or enterprise arrangement, use our organisation enquiry form rather than buying multiple overlapping subscriptions.
4. Renewal
Annual subscriptions renew automatically each year on the terms presented at checkout, until they are cancelled. Renewal is taken by the Merchant of Record using the payment method held on file.
If a renewal payment fails, access to paid features may be reduced or suspended until payment succeeds or the subscription is cancelled.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel an annual subscription at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Unless we say otherwise, access to paid features continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.
Cancelling billing is not the same as deleting data. Your Circle and its content remain until you delete them from Account & settings, or ask us to delete them through the Privacy Request form.
6. Refunds
Statutory rights come first. If the law where you live gives you a cancellation or withdrawal right, a right to a refund for a service that is faulty or not as described, or any other non-waivable consumer right, that right applies and nothing in this policy removes it.
Beyond your statutory rights, refunds are considered case by case. We will look sympathetically at a duplicate charge, a charge after a cancellation was requested, a plan bought in clear error and not used, or a material failure of the service on our side.
Because the Merchant of Record processes the payment, an approved refund is issued through Dodo Payments back to the original payment method, and the timing depends on your bank or card issuer.
To raise a billing or refund question, use our organisation enquiry form or the Privacy Request form if it concerns your billing data. Tell us the account email and the approximate date of the charge; do not send full card numbers.
7. Chargebacks
Please contact us before raising a chargeback — most billing problems are quicker to fix directly. Where a chargeback is raised, the subscription and access may be suspended while the Merchant of Record resolves it.
8. Rewards, credits and money
Kindnesss records the pledge only. We never collect or transfer the reward.
Kindness Credits have no cash value. They cannot be purchased, sold, transferred, traded, redeemed or converted into money, and nothing on this page makes them a payment method or a stored-value product.
The only money that ever moves through Kindnesss is a subscription payment to the Merchant of Record for use of the service.
9. Free use
Family use of Kindnesss is free at the level described on the pricing page. Kindnesss Family ($39.99 per year) is the optional paid family plan. A free family does not lose its kindness record by choosing not to subscribe.
10. Changes to pricing
We may change prices and tier definitions for new purchases and for future renewal periods. Where a change affects your renewal, we will take reasonable steps to tell you before it takes effect so that you can cancel if you prefer.
