Draft for product testing
Privacy, in plain English
This is a working draft written so families can understand what Kindnesss does with their information during testing.
Not final legal wording
This page is a placeholder. A formal legal, privacy and safeguarding review — including the children's data rules that apply in each market we operate in — is required before any broad public child-facing launch.
Who holds the account
Only adults create Kindnesss accounts. A parent or guardian owns the family record and controls every child profile inside it. Children do not have their own logins.
What we store about a child
A first name or nickname, an optional age band, their kindness acts, credits and badges. We do not ask for a surname, school, address, phone number, precise location or date of birth.
What we store about adults
Your email address, a display name and which family circle you belong to. Family members see the label you were invited under, not each other's email addresses.
Who can see it
Only people invited into your family circle. There is no public child profile, no public leaderboard, no search of children and no stranger messaging.
Photos
Photo evidence is optional and off by default. In this release completions are text-only, so no child photos are stored at all.
Money
Kindnesss records the pledge only. We never collect or transfer the reward. We store no card details, bank details or balances. Kindness Credits are a non-monetary encouragement. They have no cash value and cannot be bought, sold, transferred or redeemed.
Website translation
Public marketing pages (home, how it works, kindness ideas, safety, schools, pricing, impact, privacy and terms) offer an optional language selector powered by an external translation service. It is not loaded on any signed-in or family page, so dashboard, child, pledge and account content is never sent to a translation service. Form fields and other sensitive elements are marked as non-translatable.
Payments
Checkout is not switched on. We do not collect card, bank or payment details anywhere in Kindnesss, and we never handle pledge reward money.
Deleting your data
A guardian can remove a child profile or delete the whole family from Account & settings. Deleting the family removes its children, pledges, acts, badges and activity.
